I Ching Sticks

Once again, I question the value of blogging. For what? To maintain a “following”? I’ve no need, thank you very much. Although I do value highly the people I’ve met through this blog. I keep my own private journals, so there’s no need to post it on the internet. So why?

I cannot answer with any clarity or conviction. And to be honest, I’m tired of the pompous, know-it-all types that hang around various blogs & forums. Magick is FULL of these types, more than any other field it seems. Most are trolls. All are annoying. Maybe it’s simply time to withdraw and do my thing. And do it privately. My thoughts on leaving New England will have to wait.

Now then. I’m making my own I Ching sticks. I went into Salem, MA. recently and asked for some I Ching yarrow sticks. The pretty (and pretty empty headed) girl behind the counter needed to be reminded what the I Ching was. Then, in a moment of clarity, she said, “Oh, I’ve never heard of sticks being used. The real method is with coins.” After which I walked out of the shop, totally disgusted and disheartened.  Clearly she had no idea what she was talking about. Typical really. So I’m making my own set. Here is a pic of some raw material that I will cut, sand and paint.
